The MetaWare® Development Toolkit includes the MetaWare C/C++ Compiler, MetaWare Debugger, and MetaWare IDE. For more than 20 years, MetaWare tools have been recognized in the industry for producing high quality, high performance and efficient code. MetaWare tools for ARC processors are available from ARC International.

Green Hills Software supports ARC processors with a complete development solution which integrates their standard MULTI IDE with the MetaWare Compiler and Debugger. Green Hills' tools for ARC processors are available from ARC International and from Green Hills Software.

GNU open source tools (gcc and gdb) are also available for ARC processors.
